Brandon C.

Heavy Duty Mechanic
Resort Municipality of Whistler

I work on all the snow removal equipment – loaders, ploughs, graders, and we have a snow cat that I work on. Keeping the snow off the road is important for public safety. We also take care of the fire department’s fleet so that it’s in the best shape that it can be. Doing a job well is always a good feeling because you never want equipment to break down when they are responding to an emergency or at an emergency.

The job is always a little bit challenging, and you get a pretty good sense of accomplishment when you finish those challenging jobs.  I guess that’s a big part of what I enjoy about this work.

I’m usually here at the works yard shop. Every day is different, but I’m always fixing something.

Outside of work, I enjoy sports. For the most part everybody in the town does the same stuff – they bike and they ski.
