The variety of work here is really good. I enjoy doing a lot of different things for the public – mechanical, machine operating, wastewater collections.
We provide services to the public by looking after all the roads, the ditching and the water. Right now we have a lot of flooding. So we’re taking care of flooding issues like clearing drainages and helping the crew out with whatever they need to get their work done.
I’d like people to know that we’ve got a really great crew. Everybody works really hard to make sure that everything’s working the way it’s supposed to. The parks crew really does a great job. With water treatment, we’re up to speed now with a better water treatment system and it’s working really well. It all takes time and money. Unfortunately utilities and that kind of thing aren’t the sexy part of what it takes to makes the town run. But it’s the stuff on the ground that makes it all work.
I like the mechanical end of things. So I enjoy building cars and riding motorcycles and snowmobiles. It’s been my hobby ever since I was a little kid to work on mechanical things with my hands.
